Part A

Alex is one of the most manipulative people to ever grace any work of fiction ever. He has canonly been known to use forces that are opposing each other at the same time. If you're the sort of character who would have any sort of drive to accomplish any kind of goal for any personal reason (be it for your own gain or to help your loved ones), he can probably find a way to twist this to his own needs. His main method is to figure out something your character would do anyway that he needs done and push you toward it.

So my questions in Part A:

1. Is it alright if Alex is using your character even if they feel like they should be doing it anyway?
2. If yes, what are the possible triggers he could utilize from your character? For example, would you betray people to save your family? Are you also a manipulator trying to accomplish secret plans for your own gain? Alex is very good at reading people, so he can probably figure out at least the basics of all of this. And then proceed to use it.

Part B

Re: Alex's Weapon

His weapon is the mask he always wears. The most basic way to describe its power is that it has the ability to create illusions. At first, it can only affect one person at a time, they have to make eye contact with him (or at least the opening in that part of the mask, I could rant about how I'm not certain he has an eye under there but not important here!), and the illusions are simple, such as causing people to think his hair is a different color or that there's an object nearby that isn't really there. As he grows stronger, the mask will grow in its abilities to not only create stronger illusions, but it can affect up to four people at its maximum and only takes a quick glimpse at any part of the mask for it to go into effect. The more powerful illusions can change the entire landscape when they are strongest and will also have the ability to actually harm people. For example, if someone gets a cut on their arm in the illusion, it will still be there when Alex breaks it. I obviously will ask players before I possibly harm their characters in this way should it ever come to that.

The question for part B:

Is it all right if he uses this on your character? To which level?

Permissions reference for Alex

4th Wall Breaking: I prefer to avoid this if at all possible. Alex thrives on being mysterious.
Threadjacking: Go for it!
Back threading: I'm gonna do it myself, so not a problem.

Mind Reading: You can try, but canonly Alex always blocks it or clearly is controlling what you're hearing. Unless he's really worried, but that's a rare occurrence. Either way, let me know it's happening and I can tailor his thoughts accordingly.
Location Sensing: Alex has an ability to warp that canonly hasn't been explained that well, so I'd prefer it if you didn't.
Telepathy: I'm going to place this along the same lines as mind reading. Alex has a lot of powers of his own and he always seems to be on guard, so this probably wouldn't work.
Special/Magic Items: Warn me if you're going to try, but there's a good chance he'll block you just because that's canon for him.

Fighting Capabilities: Alex fights only when he sees no other option. He also exclusively uses his Psynergy to do it. His level of power is "nearly limitless" so...yeah, watch it. He can use water-based attacks and healing spells, as well as use Psynergy to push people back, levitate, and warp.
Injury/Death: Definitely talk to me. As open as I usually am, it would be very hard to do either of these to him. I don't want to make him some immune tank or anything either, though.
Win/Lose/Tie: Just talk to me. Again, Alex is one of the toughest opponents you'd ever come across plus he tends to avoid fighting.
Medical/Physical Info: Alex is immensely power and has nearly endless life plus healing spells. Then again, we also haven't been given a reason for the mask.

Romance/Relationships: Alex only likes to get close enough to people to use them, and then he just throws them aside when he doesn't need them anymore. That's not to say romantic feelings are impossible, but once he realizes they're happening, he will probably do his best to avoid you. So yes, this is hard and requires discussion.
Sexual Relations: Even tougher to reach with him, since he tries not to get close to people and that's about as close as you can get. It is possible (he has a son I don't think he knows about), but he would really have to have his guard down around you. And afterwards he would try to never see you again. So yes, this would require a lot of planning.
Physical Contact: Alex has been known to grab onto people if he's going to warp them, otherwise he seems to avoid physical contact as much as possible. You can try to like touch him on the arm or something, but I guarantee he'll try to move away if you do.

Any Triggers/Secrets/Facts you should know: He once played a game of World Chess to become all-powerful and immortal. It nearly worked, but the actual all-powerful and immortal Wise One (who is a flying rock with an eye) through a wrench in the plan to keep him from being totally successful. Alex is once again seen playing World Chess later, though we have no idea what his exact goals are at this point.

Also, he does care about his cousin Mia and has been known to worry about her. And he had a fling with a king's sister before he ran off and before she realized she was pregnant. So yeah, he knocked up his girlfriend and I don't think he realizes it. Or that she's now dead and he's seen his son twice. Whoops.

As previously mentioned re:Animus, Asch still has that big neon sign over his head going "USE ME, USE ME." It's not as obvious in Exsil because he does have something to do with himself but it's still pretty well ingrained.

also illusions gimme gimme

This kid (Yosuke Hanamura) is fairly easy to manipulate, so he could be some fun for Alex if he was ever involved in anything important. The best way to get to him is to treat him kindly. But he's just a typical teenager for the most part, so at the moment I'm not sure why anyone would bother. If you think of a reason it's up for discussion though. And sure, use the mask at will.

ehehehehe

YES TO ALL.

No, seriously. I think the interactions with these two could be a lot of fun, regardless of what they know/don't know. Use him however you or Alex sees fit~

:DDD /waaaaaveeeees

But mommy uncle said not to talk to strangers. And bad men deserved to be boiled alive.

lol no I have no idea how he'd react to learning anything, especially since I'm not entirely sure he thinks Alex is evil to begin with? Maybe he will be Daddy's little helper.

What a terrible influence you are, Alex. Jeez.

Brackets and inner monologues are always welcome, especially with Alex. xD;

Hey, Amiti's already on-board with helping these people. He's a big fan of fighting for the greater good and all that jazz. It isn't a stretch to think Alex can convince him something that gives him power will help. :|a
