Alex Tracker (tm)
I'd like to thank Britt for making me realize other Golden Sun fans exist and Samm for making the comment that inspired this post.
Basically I'm going to keep track of where I know Alex either was or wasn't and when! ...Yup. I'm gonna make up a calendar for Weyard too, why not, the Golden Sun gets to be Jesus/destruction of the Ring/pick your real or nerdy calendars.
20-18 BGS: Alex is born in Imil
Sometime after that but before 2-1 BGS: Alex leaves Imil
2 BGS - 1 BGS
Before the Sol Sanctum Heist: Alex has been traveling with Saturos, Menardi, and Felix for an unknown time.
Vale: Alex does not stay at the Vale's inn with the others.
Sol Sanctum: Alex only appears in the Elemental Stars chamber long after the rest of the group.
Vault: Alex passes through Vault with the group in a "big hurry".
Bilibin: The group is noted as passing through, but no details about who was there are given. (I think, not done yet)
Imil: A group I presume to be them is noted as passing through, but I also assume that Alex did not go into town for obvious reasons.
Mercury Lighthouse: Alex goes through the lighthouse with them since he's necessary to get through it. The group leaves obstacles a Water Adept could not get past alone, though whose idea it was and who moved things is not clear. He seems to hide out when Isaac and company appear with Mia in tow, and does not try to warp over to the elevator with the rest of the group. Alex only shows himself after Saturos is defeated.
Imil: No one mentions the group stopping in town on the way out.
Bilibin: Alex and Saturos come "later" than the rest of the group, but they were in town. The villager notes they all crossed the river after that.
Bilibin Barricade: An unidentified group pushes down the stack of tree people before crossing the river. So, no clue if it's even them (but probably is) or who all is travelling in it.
Alpine Crossing: Hama says Saturos "and his companions" blocked Silk Road. No details on who or how many were there, but Jenna recognizes her in TLA.
Tolbi-bound Ship: As you disembark, crew members mention a strange group of six on their previous voyage that went on to Tolbi.
Gondowan Passage: A solider said no one unusual crossed the bridge today, then mentions a strange-looking group of six. Not sure when that means, but Alex was there.
Suhalla Desert: The wounded soldiers in Suhalla mention "another group" that got past the storms with water, which must be Alex. They say and/or think that a column of water shot up when they were in the storm, and then "the group" killed the monsters.
Suhalla Gate: The soldiers mentioned being attacked by a strange group. No numbers are given and they cite the ones with "wild hair".
Venus Lighthouse Entrance: Soldiers and scholars have been attacked, the only details are Kraden and Felix's presences.
Lalivero: The injured gate guards say there were seven in the group, which would include Alex. They only mention being attacked with fire.
Babi Lighthouse: The injured confirm Saturos and Menardi did all the fighting, but one man says they were "two of the six". I'm not sure if he's not counting Sheba or if Alex has wandered off.
Venus Lighthouse: Alex makes his first known appearance in the exit room after Felix leaves Jenna and Kraden to go back up. He fends off attackers outside, and sends them off to keep fighting. I'd still like to know what that geyser Psynergy is...
Idejima: Alex catches up to Jenna and Kraden just before Venus Lighthouse begins to ignite. He's washed out to sea with them in the ensuing earthquake, and is the first to notice Felix and Sheba wash ashore while the others lie around complaining. He is there up until the tidal wave hits, and heads to the newly reached landmass of Indra while the others are still incapacitated.
Daila: Alex arrives after you've gotten Lash and saved the boys in the shrine. At least one villager mentions him and that he's meeting with the mayor. At the mayor's house, he exits just as you reach the door, says he's been looking for a boat, and that he'd rather travel to Madra alone. The mayor thinks about Alex saying he would pay him a fortune, though he doesn't trust that. I can't imagine him stealing one himself unless he was desperate, though...
Madra: One woman references a traveler who was looking for a boat, but otherwise there's no sign of Alex. Later we're also told that Alex visited or at least saw Piers in jail and witnessed him use Frost at some point.
Madra Drawbridge: The mayor's wife says this can only be crossed with permission. It IS Alex, though. I'm not sure if there are any comments about him if you go here before she lets you pass.
Alhafra: Alex is already there when you first arrive, entirely hogging the largest room in the inn for himself. He remains there until you either visit Champa for the first time or Briggs escapes with the boat if you didn't go to Champa yet.
Champa: The first time you leave, Alex shows up with Karst and we meet Agatio with them. He "encourages" us to move forward with the Lighthouse quest, and mentions that apparently he was about to "borrow" Piers' ship just before we returned for it. Just after that he joined up with the Proxians and apparently they traveled to Tolbi. They may have met with Babi, regardless he died around that time and while Alex swears they didn't kill him, he says the residents are under the impression they were involved. What happened... Anyway, he leaves with Karst and Agatio.
Hesperia Settlement: A man makes a comment that they've been having "a lot of boats coming through lately", but no other details are given and it would be odd for Alex and the Proxians to go there.
Jupiter Lighthouse: Agatio and Karst are surprised to notice Alex isn't with them after they spring their trap on Mia. He appears near Felix just before he reaches them, reminds him to light the beacon, but also heals the group because he knows they're going to help Isaac. And also he's secretly worrying about Mia. Later on the aerie, Alex is creepering from down the stairs after the fight. He'll appear to keep whichever is the losing side alive and to get Karst and Agatio to leave before Isaac shows up. They don't get warped, by the way.
Mt. Aleph: Alex is climbing it just in time for the lighting of the Mars beacon and makes it to the peak in time for the Golden Sun. He doesn't make it down before the mountain collapses, however, because Reasons.
1 GSE - 10 GSE: Alex is not accounted for.
10 GSE: Alex resurfaces in Ayuthay to restart the Alchemy Well. He gets the Luna Mask from Barai Temple, but for unspecified reasons doesn't continue into the temple for the Insight Glass, instead leaving a letter for the ones who would. While he performs noticeable "miracles", he keeps his face from everyone and has no contact with them, apart from Veriti who met him the day after he arrived. And they, uh, definitely had contact.
